Jakob Weingartner was born in the Austrian Alps. After graduating in urban sociology at the University of Vienna, he studied documentary filmmaking at the Universidad de Cine, Buenos Aires. His first feature-length movie "Boxeo Constitución" toured the international festival scene and was broadly released in austrian cinemas. Weingartner lives and works in Berlin, writing and directing documentaries and radio features.
